The Recruitment Process

Landing the job you really want depends so much on first impressions.

From CV to final assessment, it's vital we see you in your best light. So here are a few pointers:

  • Evidence of what you have done is much more valuable than an idea of what you would do in a given situation. If you think it'll help get the point across, be prepared to bring samples of your work or proof of your achievements to your interview.
  • Think about examples of your skills and experience that you can mention, to show how suitable you are for the job.
  • You'll be assessed on how well you suit the role, so really think about what it is that makes you fit.

Applying by CV
Alternatively, you may be asked to complete a shorter application form and then attach your CV and covering letter so that we can look at your skills and experience in more detail. Please attach this in Microsoft Word (.doc format) or PDF only, as we are unable to consider other document types.

What happens next?
We'll read through your application and decide whether we think you're a good match for the position. This depends on whether you have the right skills and experience for the job. If you do, we'll be in touch within 21 days to speak to you in more detail about your application.

If you're short-listed, we'll contact you to take you through our assessment process.

Depending on the role, this could involve a telephone interview, a face-to-face interview or a full assessment of your skills. The format of the assessment will be explained to you by the recruitment team but make sure you ask questions if you are unsure what to prepare.

Remember that it's really important to us that you've chosen Selfridges. As important as it should be to you that Selfridges has chosen you. We want you to really put in some effort.
