Sales Managers

Menswear, Womenswear, Accessories, Home, Food and Beauty

For experienced retail managers who have proved their potential, a Sales Management role is a challenging step up to more senior responsibility.

You'll be heading up your own team of Department Managers - a
multi-faceted role demanding first-rate leadership skills and commercial focus. You'll understand what it takes to create and sustain maximum customer satisfaction - from the broadest business vision right down to the finest details. And as the critical link between senior management and the sales floor, you'll use your own personality to forge strong relationships and foster a climate of sustained achievement.

If you've earned the right to make a real impact at the highest level, few environments can promise you greater scope.

Department Managers

It's your department, and your responsibility - from delivering a healthy commercial profit to leading your team to meet their targets and exceed customer expectations. And of course, you'll also be an ambassador for Selfridges' world-class standards and values in everything you do.

Responsible for typically up to 80 people and a turnover of millions, you'll run your department with bags of creative flair. You'll be visible at board level and, with control of your own budget, stock and profit, you'll need to be seriously confident. Whether you're passionate about fashion, food, beauty or home furnishings, this is a world-class, fast paced and constantly changing environment, so it's essential you can think on your feet.

We're looking for quality management experience gained in a luxury business, whether that's a hotel chain, airline or another retailer. You'll have the vision to influence and shape the future of Selfridges and in return you can expect to work with great brands and a team of people who really love what they do.

In short, everything you'd expect from a first-rate retailing professional plus a little bit extra.

Restaurant Managers

Serving quality food and drink is a major element of the Selfridges shopping experience. So managing one of our in-store cafés, bars or restaurants involves a lot of operational responsibility.

When working front-of-house, you'll embody the Selfridges approach to world-class customer service, anticipating your guests' needs and leading and inspiring your team by example. Behind the scenes, you'll take a hands-on approach to ensure consistently exceptional levels of service in everything from product quality to visual display.

As with our other Department Managers, you'll be fully involved in recruiting your own Sales associates and from their first day, you'll manage their performance and use your own skills to get the best out of theirs.

The role requires proven experience in hospitality or a contract catering environment - including a year spent as a manager - demonstrating your ability to manage a busy team, set high standards and drive a healthy commercial operation, plus a sure instinct for understanding your customers' needs and tastes.

If you're flexible, creative and wholly passionate about delivering quality, you won't find a better environment in which to grow and shine.

(This is a 45 hour-per-week rota-based position that involves working three out of every four Saturdays, plus a mixture of Sundays and late turns.)
